Human right code: The meaning of this is to the application of translators and interpreter for established communication. In this process, a service user can get the way of communicating with the service provider. This is also helped the service user with their own language that they use for everyday life. In this way, the people can easily make out the various critical issues with their own language easily (Courtney, 2013).

Safeguard the interest of visitor: The victim and diagnosis people is depended on the ethical consideration to use the legal aspect, charters and the code of conduct or practice. Different kinds of problem have different impact on the communication system on the organization with the legal aspect as well (Courtney, 2013).

For protecting the exposing information, various kinds of process have been followed by use of data protection act. In health and social care, data protection is also significantly impact on the communication system and enables the practice of code by following act and legislation (Courtney, 2013).

Q5: In health and social care context, applying a range of relevant communication theories to explain communication in healthcare.

Communication can be between two people of groups where information is being exchanged between them. It is vital to have a clear and effective communication as it helps in developing a good relationship between the service user and provider in the health care context. Through this system service users problem is understood and dealt with accordingly. Effective communication skills are a must in working with the health and social care; this helps in building up the interrelationship between both service users and providers. Communication theory is most effective in this case for both users and providers (Hargie, 2010). There are various communication theories related to health and social care below I have highlighted the four main aspects of communication theories.

Humanistic theory:

this theory is more person centerd. It is achieved through approaching an individual in a positive way.it works with taking interest and the welfare of the client/service user, through recognizing their individual needs, being understanding and not judging them in any way. This is applied in situations where a personal demand identifies the self-esteem, respect and dignity. With this theory, staff in residential care home becomes skilled and efficient at humanistic way. The downside to this theory is that it does not have long term effect, the service user will need to have good communication skills in order to explain their issues effectively. Therapist will need to maintain not being judgmental of all people which can be hard at times. (Schneider and Krug, 2010).

Social theory:

This theory is related to the social factor. An individual can have some social demands and needs where the social care home has to fulfill the social demand as well. The theory is includes various kind of contractual methods for the service user in the time of the treatment care. Social theory is described with the help of social phenomena related to the historical data. For example- A better communication can be established with power of convincing enabled community people where everyone can better communication with other. The advantage is that it is generalizable to all cultures as it highlights it is an idea present in all groups. The disadvantage is to don’t look at the reciprocal effect, as it is a static theory.

Cognitive theory:

This theory is used in helping clients who suffer from stress, depression and anger issues. It is believed that a person’s attitude is affected by their emotions. This theory is easily understood by clients and is focused on their thoughts and needs. It is a direct approach, easy to learn and clients can apply these techniques in other areas of their lives. The only downside to this theory are that it does not directly deal with the root of the cause and only one issue at a time is worked on. It is essential that clients are able to express their thoughs clearly and understand what is needed from them by the counselor in order to help solve their issues.

Behavioral theory:

Behavioral theory means the nature and characteristic of human. Within this theory it is believed that a persons behavior can be effected by ones surroundings and the environment they are in. It is useful within residential home cares to improve the mental condition of user and finds out the individual behavior. The advantage of this theory is that this helps to leadership traits for learning with development and experience. The disadvantage is that people learn practically but not apply properly because of its complexity.

Psychoanalytic theory:

This theory is related to finding out the individual’s mentality along with stress. It is focused on those individuals who have endured traumatic events in their lifetime which has had an effect in the way they live. It helps the service user to identify the reasons in their actions and their thoughts; this therapy helps them to change their behavior aswell as parts of their lives. It is used within care home to help for betterment of the patients (Elliott, 2015).

The downside is, this theory can be very complicated to  understand which means that practitioners will need extensive specialist training which can take time. It can be distressing at time for the client as they have to talk about their traumatic events.

Michael Argyles (1972) developed a model which he named the communication cycle; it is said to be the most effective way of communication. “According to Argyle, skilled interpersonal interaction (social skills) involves a cycle in which you have to translate or ‘decode’ what other people are communication and constantly adapt your own”. Moonie,N(2010)P18)

There are six stages; first idea is developed, second message decoded; third message sent; fourth message received; fifth decoded and final message understood. This theory only applies to one to one; so the advantages are that direct communication is made with the service user which enhances a good understanding and relationship between them both. It means the service provider can get to the main point of the topic and enable the service provider to ask any related questions or queries regarding the topic. I feel this one to one communication is very effective as it’s a straight forward approach and will increase a better relationship between the service user and their career/service  provider as there will be trust and confidence built. The service user will feel comfortable knowing there will be strict confidentiality between them.

Q6: Explanation about how to the communication processes are influenced by individual values and culture factors.

Values and culture means an individual belief, customer, habit, attitude. Within communication personal value and culture has an influence on the health and social care setting. Different values and culture is different from one person to another. The UK is a multilingual country, where there will be several service users who will face barriers in communication as some do not have spoken or written english. Orgainisations will need to tackle these barriers in order to help these services users. (Edelman, et al, 2013). These are as following-

Social class: Communication is influenced by the social class of a person as well where it is also ensured the users’ safety. This is important for residential care home to find out the class of the. The people who take the service frequently may be higher class in the society where this class people can establish better communication with service provider. At the first time the person belongs to the social class that does not give such priority.

Norms and Beliefs:

Personal belief can have a great impact on communication in health and social care. A service user may not want to communicate with someone who does not have the same values or beliefs as them. As the care service provider, it is important to understand and respect the values and beliefs of the user where and allowing them to practice their belives as they wish. This is also found in personal behaviour analysis (Edelman, et al, 2013). Example- For example, a person believes that the better communication helps to recover personal problem mentally. So at any problem he/she contact with the service provider and effect on communication.

Age:

User social factors are also influenced by their age where it is essential to understand there are to implement the medicine and applies to treatment process. To make communicate with various age ranges people such as child, infant, adult can be varied where the residential care home has concentrated to users’ age to communication. Variation of age, people communication styles are different. For example- Teenagers’ communication and the older people communication style can’t be same at all where the teenagers feel shy.

Sex:

Women and men are totally different where it is has to be maintained to give service because women generally become sensitive in communication skills. So, sex has significant impact on the commination. In this case, male and female have particular role in communication that is not similar (Guirdham, 2011). Most of the cases, Women do not make communication frequently.

Education:

Education has a great impact on the communication process where an educated person will be able communication better where they are more educated, whereas the non-educated are not. Not everyone will be able to understand certain levels of words/phrases so it is important that the service provider takes this into account when dealing with clients.

Q7: Explanation about how legislations, charters and code of practice impact on communication processes in health and social care.

Legislation, charters and code of practice are similar in nature where every residential care home has particular policy where they have to be skilled. In collective the data and information, the employees have to try this ethical consideration for the patients’ betterment as well as organization. The miss mass can be happen in where the ethical issue can be helpful in betterment.

Code of practice:

To use of various types of strategies and technique, the service provider as well as service user can develop their communication through specific needs. Good communication system has great impact on the health care service effectively that it can minimize health risk (Reid et al, 2016). The code of practice is therefore to ensure the quality of service is being provided by the service provider. It sets out the expectation of each services users behavior and their attitudes towards each other and their service users.

Communication techniques:

To ensure well for the service provider and the users betterment, legislations and code of practice is needed to protect the personal need and cover their demand with gathering with one another.
